What is Radiesse®?

Radiesse® is a soft tissue injectable implant that was employed in several medical applications for decades before its cosmetic benefits were discovered.

Radiesse® is comprised of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres. The CaHA compound has a long history as a biomaterial in the orthopedic, dentistry, and ophthalmology fields spanning over 2 decades of use.

It is long lasting and does not require a skin test because it is the same mineral component found in our bones and teeth. Radiesse® is a safe, effective, time-tested, non-surgical wrinkle treatment that provides immediate results.

Patients should avoid aspirin regimens or other medications that could inhibit the healing process. Most patients who receive a Radiesse® injection may return to work immediately following injection.

What can I expect of my results?

Because there is no downtime, you can resume normal activity right after leaving Dr. Cheski’s office. You can expect much smoother skin where wrinkles used to be, enhanced lips, or smoothed-out depressed scars, depending on your treatment.

Any discomfort following the procedure can be controlled with medication. The area treated might have a little swelling, which may last 24 to 36 hours depending on the area treated. There may be some slight bruising at the injection site, which can be covered with make-up.

Depending on the area treated, most of your correction may last for several months or years. Some touch-up treatments may be necessary.
