Captique

What is Captique? How does it work?

Captique is a non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler and the newest HA filler to enter the U.S. market.

Captique gel is injected just beneath the skin surface, temporarily adding volume to the layers of the skin that have deteriorated due to age and other factors. The gel, when injected, is used to raise depressions in the skin, providing temporary correction of wrinkles and folds.

What areas on my body can be improved with Captique?

Captique can be used to fill out or smooth out any number of fine lines and wrinkles of the face. These include:

  • Smile lines
  • Vertical lip lines
  • Marionette lines
  • Crow’s feet

The effect is immediate, reliable, and predictable, requiring minimal downtime.

Is Captique safe? What are the side effects?

Yes, completely safe.

Captique contains hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance found in the fluids surrounding the cells and tissues. It is chemically, physically and biologically similar in the tissues of all species.

Captique was approved in the United States by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in December 2004.

Captique has the usual side effects associated with any dermal filler, such as:

  • Redness
  • Bruising
  • Swelling
  • Pain
  • Itching

However, it has less adverse side effects than other hyaluronic acid fillers of the same source on the market.

How do I maintain my improvements?

Hyaluronic acids are naturally absorbed into the body over time, being a naturally occurring part of your own tissues. The duration of the effect is typically influenced by the area treated and the amount of material used to achieve the optimal correction.

Captique’s perseverance is similar to the other hyaluronic acid injectables available. Touch-up injections two or three times a year are usually needed to maintain the correction.
